Langualy ("we", "us", or "our") is a Discord bot that provides real-time translation features across Discord servers. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you or your server use Langualy:
- User IDs and usernames – to associate translation actions with Discord users.
- Message content – for the purpose of translating messages.
- Guild IDs and channel IDs – to manage translation groups and server configurations.
- Message metadata – including timestamps and message IDs for logging and deletion syncing.
- Reaction emojis – to detect when a translation request is made.
- Subscription information – such as who claimed premium and expiration dates.
We do not collect IP addresses, emails, passwords, or any non-Discord user data.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- To provide translation services, including automatic and reaction-based translations.
- To manage server-specific translation groups and settings.
- To offer and enforce subscription tier limits (e.g., group/channel limits for free vs. premium users).
- To log usage for basic analytics, abuse monitoring, and service improvement.
- To remove translated messages when the original is deleted.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely in our managed database systems. We use access control and industry-standard protection measures to prevent unauthorized access.
- Translated message logs are retained for tracking and deletion purposes.
- We do not share your data with advertisers, analytics providers, or external parties beyond what's needed to function (see next section).
- Data is stored only for as long as necessary to provide the core functionality of the bot.
4. Third-Party Services
Langualy uses external APIs to perform translations:
- DeepL API: Used for high-quality premium translations. Message content is sent temporarily to DeepL for translation.
- Lingva API: Used for free-tier translations via a self-hosted or public endpoint.
These services only receive the text required to process the translation. We do not store the responses or give them access to Discord metadata.
5. Data Deletion and Opt-Out
Langualy does not store personal messages outside of public Discord channels where the bot is active.
- If you wish to remove your server's data or stop using the service, you can remove the bot from your server at any time.
- If you'd like your translation logs purged, please contact us via our Discord support server.
6. Children's Privacy
Langualy is not intended for users under the age of 13. By using the bot, you confirm that you meet Discord's minimum age requirements.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted at langualy.xyz and announced via our Discord support server. Continued use of the bot after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
